Great analysis! It makes me think about the system of government and thought controlled by propaganda that Trump (and other far right wing leaders worldwide) has ushered into the mainstream. Do you think that modern-day Fascism it's basically the other side of the same coin (comparing to Socialist/Communist system) and something like a Chernobyl-type event is possible through unaccountability and wanting to cover things up for the sake of covering your ass in the eyes of the larger establishment when a far right government is in place?
Just like you I am against both kinds of extremism. So when I criticize socialism, I don't exclude National Socialism and of course criticize that as well. Fascism isn't the EXACT same as National Socialism though, but it's VERY similar. Basically socialism is a planned economy controlled by the State (under control of a socialist or communist party). Fascism is the same, except that it's not directly the State that does the controlling, but basically big cooperations - like Klaus Schwab's "Stakeholder Capitalism". Which is an intentionally misleading term, cause it's not a form of capitalism (aka a free market economy) but is a controlled ecenomy - just that it's isn't directly controlled by the State but by proxy through Klaus and his big cooperations and monopolies.
Nice analysis!
Ties in nicely with James Lindsay’s argument that “Communism can never be wrong.”
